Queen City Distillers Reveals Seven Experiences and a $70 Million Investment for Regina
New connected destination will bring together live entertainment, dining, premium beverages and retail, while supporting 200+ new jobs in Regina.
REGINA, SK – Queen City Distillers today unveiled the names, identities and renderings for six hospitality and entertainment experiences planned as part of a new entertainment destination in Regina. The announcement provides the first complete look at a connected concept bringing together dining, live entertainment, nightlife, premium beverage experiences and retail under one roof.
The entertainment destination represents a planned investment of $45 million. A future brewery and distillery at the Avana Centre represent an additional planned investment of $25 million. Together, the projects represent a total investment of $70 million and 200+ new jobs across Regina’s hospitality, entertainment and beverage manufacturing sectors.
“Regina deserves a destination that brings people together for great food, major entertainment and memorable nights out, all right here at home,” said Shaun Semple, Owner of Queen City Distillers. “We’re creating a place where people can celebrate, connect and make memories, while making a meaningful investment in Regina’s future.”
More than a collection of individual venues, the destination has been designed around the different ways people gather. Guests will be able to enjoy dinner before a concert, meet friends to watch a game, explore premium wine and spirits, celebrate over cocktails, and stay for live entertainment, all within one space.
Six Distinct Experiences, One Connected Destination
The Jack
Named in honour of Regina-born Juno Award-winning artist Jack Semple, The Jack is a purpose-built, two-storey live entertainment venue with capacity for 1,550 guests. Significant investment in audio, visual and lighting technology, immersive design, premium Las Vegas style loges and private boxes, and strong sightlines will support a high-quality experience for audiences while helping attract major performers to Regina.
“When I was starting out, Regina had no shortage of places for musicians to perform,” said Jack Semple. “Those opportunities helped shape my career and the careers of many Saskatchewan artists. While the talent has always been here, many of those stages have disappeared over the years. To see a venue like this being built today and to have it carry my name, is incredibly meaningful. More than anything, I'm excited to see three new stages dedicated to live performance and another generation of artists having the chance to develop their craft right here at home.”
Bellaterra
Named for the Italian words meaning "beautiful land," Bellaterra was inspired by Saskatchewan's agricultural roots. Built around a farm-to-table philosophy, the restaurant will feature local ingredients, handcrafted cuisine, and the warmth of Italian hospitality. Bellaterra will accommodate 156 guests indoors, complemented by a 60-seat patio, and is designed to be the culinary heart of the destination.
The Vault
The Vault is a premium 54-seat wine and spirits experience featuring curated wines from a 12,000-bottle temperature-controlled wine cellar, exceptional cocktails, premium spirits, and thoughtfully crafted small plates. Led by an experienced team of mixologists, the beverage program will showcase the creativity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail behind every cocktail, making mixology a feature of the experience itself.
The Draft Room
Inspired by both the excitement of being drafted to the big leagues and the craft of a perfectly poured drink, The Draft Room reimagines the traditional sports bar. Accommodating 331 guests indoors and 100 on the patio. The venue will feature a dedicated gaming area, scratch-made comfort food, private gathering spaces, and a live entertainment stage. It's a place built for game day, celebrations, live music, and spending time with friends and family.
The Last Note
Inspired by the final note of a song that stays with an audience after the performance ends, The Last Note is a modern 156-person speakeasy featuring exceptional cocktails, live performances, and an intimate entertainment stage. Designed as a place to settle in, stay longer, and continue the evening after the main event, The Last Note brings a touch of the intimate lounge and late-night energy typically associated with Las Vegas to Regina.
Legacy Wine & Spirits
Legacy Wine & Spirits is being transformed into a destination built around expertise, hospitality, discovery, and convenience. The renewed store will feature Regina's largest temperature-controlled wine cellar, housing more than 12,000 bottles, alongside an extensive selection of wine, beer, and spirits, curated collections, guided tastings, a full-time sommelier, and the city's only drive-thru liquor store.
Expanded Brewing and Distillery Vision
As the destination evolved, so did the scope of the project. Brewing and distilling operations originally planned within the entertainment destination will instead relocate to the Avana Centre, creating additional space for the six hospitality and entertainment experiences unveiled today.
Queen City Distillers plans to invest $25 million in a new brewery and distillery facility focused on production, innovation, and visitor experiences. Designed with state-of-the-art equipment and advanced automation, the facility will become one of Canada's most modern and automated brewery and distillery operations.
Together, these seven experiences, including the future Queen City Distillery & Brewery, create a destination unlike anything currently available in Canada, offering guests the ability to build an entire visit around dining, entertainment, nightlife, retail, brewing, and distilling experiences. While each experience has its own distinct identity, all are united by a commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and bringing people together.
The project is designed to create new reasons for residents and visitors to gather, explore, and spend time in Regina while strengthening the city's hospitality, entertainment, manufacturing, and tourism sectors.
